Another long spell between posts (I’m going to have to work on some sort of New Year’s resolution about this posting malarkey). This time we have the heat of a mid-December Auckland to thank for it.

How so? Well, the air temperature and, perhaps more importantly, the humidity have leaped up to create a hot and muggy environment in the last week or so. The use of air conditioningAir conditioning has, understandably, kept pace.

Unfortunately, the provision of suitably large power circuits for these new building developments has not. So, for two days running now, we’ve lost our power supply in the afternoon. The UPSes have done a sterling job but today, alas, their capacity has been spent.

I’m writing this with a couple of hours remaining on my laptop’s battery, so I should type fleetly and post away!

Update: Well that, clearly, was what was needed. Shake the dust out of my site management software with a post and the power is miraculously restored. Excellent!
